PBA Philippine Cup Finals - Realtors Bag Title Sta.
Lucia Realtors 100 - Purefoods TJ Giants 88:
Dennis Espino (203-C-73) scored 22 points in the second half to
help give the Realtors their first-ever Philippine Cup title. Espino
finished with 29 points, including key baskets in the fourth quarter
that allowed Sta. Lucia to take control of the game. Purefoods came
out firing in the first 24 minutes of play to take a 46-44 lead into
the break. However, the Realtors responded with tough defense in the
second half to take the upper hand, 71-70, going into the final
canto. Espino was named as the Finals Most Valuable Player. It is
the Realtors' second championship in franchis history after winning
the 2001 Governor's Cup. J. Bagulaya

2006 PBA All-Star Weekend Results
The
South All-Stars defeated the North All-Stars, 122-120, to give a thrilling
climax to the weeklong 2006 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) All-Star
Weekend festivities held in the southern city of Cagayan de Oro in Misamis
Oriental.
It was sweet revenge for the Southern boys who were defeated by their Northern
counterparts in last year�s event. Talk N Text center

who finished with 30 points and an all-star game record 16 rebounds was named
the game�s MVP for the second time in his career.
In the all-star side events,

Miller (178-G) of Talk N Text Phone Pals of Talk N Text won both the
Obstacle and the Skills Challenge,
William
Antonio (190-G-75) of Coca-Cola Tigers of Coca Cola bagged the Three-point
Shootout title, and
Nino
Canaleta (-F/C) of Air21 Express of Air21 successfully defended his Slam
Dunk crown. In the Legends vs. Present Stars three-point shootout, the trio of
retired PBA stars Boyvits Victoria, Ricric Marata and hometown boy Jojo
Lastimosa bested the younger team of Renren Ritualo, James Yap and Olsen Racela.
While the team of Alaska�s Tony Dela Cruz, National Team Head Coach Chot Reyes
and Tagoloan Mayor Bambi Emano topped the Shooting Stars event. In the Blitz
Game, the sophomores continued their supremacy over the freshmen with a 130-123
victory.
