Astana secured a tough 94:88 victory and improved on the last seasons result when they lost to Saba Battery in the title decider. The defending champions Astana Tigers looked too good for the opponents throughout the tournament. They had little problems dealing with Bars Petropavlovsk 101:47 early in the contest. Later the Tigers maintained their tip-top form with a cruising victory over BK Almaty 94:85.

Iran U18 triumphs at home at FIBA Asia U18 Championship for Men. In the Final game the team overcame strong Kazakhstan U18 95:76. Azadi Stadium crowd was gladly satisfied with their juniors effort. Mehdi Shirjang led the winners with 24 points. Farbod Farman netted 18, Ramin Honarmand scored 12 and Mohammad Amjad added 11. Alexander Tyutyunik, Anton Arsenyev and Artyom Skornyakov posted 18 each in defeat and Obirzak Akhmet had 11.

Both squads realized the importance of the game and tried hard from the very beginning. Iran managed to take 25:19 ahead at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter was fatal for the guests that trialed 24:35 in the middle of it. Moreover Iran pushed the tempo and increased to 59:37 going into the changing rooms and never looked back. The score after the third period was 81:58 that already at that time gave Iran the confidence in a win. The hosts did not stop and won the Final 95:76. It was a great organization and the spectators enjoyed the win of their local team!

Kazakhstan U18 defeated Japan U18 to reach the Final of FIBA Asia U18 Championship for Men. The winners came to the winning effort step by step and had a wonderful last period. Omirzak Akhmet (202-C-90) led the winners with 31 points. Artyom Skornyakov nailed 17, while Alexander Ttyutyunik posted 15. Makoto Hiejima ended up with 22 points in defeat, while Yuya Nagayoshi added 21.
Kazakhstan destroyed Japan, whose tallest player is 198 cm in the semi-final.

Kazakhstan was too good for the opponent in the final stanza and destroyed them 36:14. The victory sent Kazakhstan to the Final of the tournament. Iran will face Kazakhstan in the Asian Under-18 championship tomorrow.

Kazakhstan U18 finished first in Group 1 and advanced to the semifinals of FIBA Asia U18 Championship for Men. Even though the team lost to China in the last day of the group Kazakhstan U18 clinched the top position before. China overcame the Kazakhs 97:74 but could not make it to the semis. Liu Shunan led the winners with 25 points. Li Xiaxou netted 19 and Ren Junfei posted 12. Anton Arsenyev top-scored in defeat with 17, while Pavel Llin added 14.

China realized the importance of the game but could do nothing now due to zero points against the forfeit against Syria. The defending champions however wanted to prove that the team is too strong this year as well but due to the circumstances would have to stop at this stage. China propelled with 21:9 in the opening tip to take control of the game. Kazakhstan U18 remained alive in the game after reducing a bit in the second period. Both teams went to the lockers with 47:37 for China. In the second half the current of the game went in the same way as China dominated the court. They increased the lead after three quarters leading to 67:43 after thirty minutes of the game. The last spurt in the last period gave them 97:64 but did not upset Kazakhstan U18 too much.

In the first overtime the teams looked even and were tied again at 92:92. With 25 seconds left, Anton Arsenyev scored his third three-pointer for the game to put Kazakhstan 104:103 ahead. Kazakhstan pushed the tempo for 51:49 in the third period but Korea managed to win the last quarter and the game itself. Lim Jongill led the winners with 19 points while Jang Jaeseok added 13. Jordan National Team topped Kazakhstan by 22 points 61:39 in the 3rd day of 30th William Jones Cup. Kazakhstan was out of action especially in the last quarter except Vsevolod Fadeykin' s 10 points who tried their best to prevent the huge loss. Today Qatar edged Kazakhstan for the third win at the Cup. Qatar managed to overcome a 9-point first period deficit to deliver an impressive win at the end. Saad Abdulrahman Ali delivered 16 points for the winners. Daoud Musa was helpful with 15 points, 9 assists and 6 boards for Qatar. Rustam Yargaliyev fired game-high 26 points for Kazakh team.
